Adil El Harrif, former Moroccan Champion, free surfer and Next Wave Surf Co owner
Adil El Harrif was born on 5th August 1980 in Casablanca, Morocco to a Moroccan father and a British mother. Growing up, Adil developed a love for the ocean and surfing at an early age, spending his summers on the Moroccan coast, where he honed his swimming and bodysurfing skills.
Adil’s passion for surfing was ignited when his older brother introduced him to the sport. He quickly embraced the waves, mastering the art of surfing and bodyboarding. His talent was recognized by fellow surfers, leading to opportunities to compete in local and international championships.
Throughout his teenage years, Adil’s dedication to surfing led to numerous accolades, including being crowned Moroccan junior champion from 1995 to 1998 and representing his country in international competitions across the globe.
Even while pursuing his academic studies in IT in Wales, UK, Adil continued to surf, forming a surf club at Swansea College and mentoring students in the sport. His commitment to surfing was further recognized when he received a scholarship from Swansea College to support his exceptional surfing abilities.
In 2004, Adil made the decision to return to his homeland, where he established his own surf school, sharing his passion and expertise with the next generation of surfers.
Today, Adil El Harrif continues to inspire and empower others through his love for the ocean and dedication to the sport of surfing.
